So you know how they say college is a time for adventure and spontaneity? They are one hundred percent correct. In a matter of one day, I decided I wanted to go to the Carrie Underwood/Hunter Hayes concert, looked up tickets, purchased tickets, found a crazy friend that supported my impulse and together we ventured on our surreal evening. It was incredible.

Being the directionally challenged individual that I am, we naturally made a few wrong turns and found ourselves lost in downtown LA, but it made the trip memorable and eventually we made it safely and even had time to spare. The concert was amazing, and that is such an understatement. I’ve been such a fan of Carrie since she first auditioned for American Idol, so to have the opportunity to go to her concert was such a fulfilling and dreamlike experience. I was melting inside with each song she sung, as she has such an all-encompassing vocal range and personable touch that connects with the audience in such a seamless way. The entire evening, I kept pinching myself, trying to wrap my mind around the fact that this was real life; I was actually at a Carrie Underwood concert.

It was such an adventuresome and memorable evening, one of those nights I’ll always remember from my freshman year. Though I don’t always recommend acting on impulse, every now and then, it is definitely fulfilling to just take those chances and do the unexpected.

Until next time friends,

-Kristen P
